Home Is Where the Bodies Are by Jeneva Rose

3.0

This book is a fairly quick read with engaging characters who are distinctive enough to each other a different perspective. But I found the writing to be somewhat stilted in its structure, and the plot to be interesting enough for me to want to reach the end but not wholly unique in the thriller genre. I didn't necessarily feel thrilled during this book, and I think switching between the present and past wasn't really needed. There wasn't a whole lot of action occurring in the middle of this book, so it gave me a sense of "Okay, well what's the point then." This is also the third thriller I've read where
Spoilerthere's a full chapter that's just a letter explaining everything - I find this to be a sort of cop-out, just an easy way to tell us what happened without letting us discover it naturally.
I actually wish we could have seen more of
SpoilerMichael at the end, because I thought his character could have been delved into a bit more.
