V for Vendetta by Alan Moore

challenging dark inspiring mysterious reflective medium-paced

5.0

the more of moore's backlog i read, the more I understand why he's become one of if not the the most important comic writers of the last 50 years. There really is just something so arresting about his work, the themes and characters and reference points that just loops you in. One thing that really helps is Moore having generally good taste in artists, which is not a universal trait (I really enjoyed all star superman but i was NOT a fan of the airbrushed-looking digital art). His books, ESPECIALLY v for vendetta and David Lloyds art, always pair together beautifully and feel like a true team effort in bringing a story to life. I'm currently on the clock working at The Friends Experience™️ so I cant expound much rn on the themes or characters but if youve read and enjoyed Moore, or youre new to him but curious, absolutely read v for vendetta
