The Game by Beth Bolden

Finally! Finally we have Micah's story! OMG I have no idea how long I've been waiting for him, but it seemed like forever. Yeah, I know, a bit over the top, but that's how it felt.
Micah and Beck met in college, both playing on the football team. From the beginning, something clicked between them, and they forged a deep connection (to the point that many believed they were much more than friends) on and off the field, that made them unstoppable. The Wall they were called. And although the attraction existed, they both hid it, for different reasons. Until the night they were both traded to different teams. Something caused that attraction to come to light, but something also stopped it, which caused a break in that friendship.
Eighteen months later and after a lot of growth both as a player and as a person, we have a Micah who wants a fresh start, who wants to amend past mistakes and recover that friendship he had with Beck. The first step, getting traded to The Condors, something Beck didn't take much pleasure in. Beck is resentful and hurt. He still didn't understand what happened. He didn't understand why Micah cut off all communication. But it soon became clear that although things were tense between them, on the field, they still were The Wall.
But Micah finally got to explain to Beck why he acted the way he did, finally confided in him about the internal struggle and problems with his family, and Beck, well, Beck couldn't resist Micah. But then, and even though they decided to go slowly until they completely mended their friendship before moving their relationship any further, a trip to Vegas complicated everything.
Both knew that the other is the ONE. They knew they wanted to spend their lives together. The problem, they didn't know how to carry it out. Too many changes, too much pressure, and only because their love for each other was really strong, and they decided to be honest with each other no matter what, was that they finally learned to live together and enjoy each other.
As always, great side characters, and as always, amazing cameos of characters from the previous books and series! So happy to see them again!
The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that it seems too repetitive in parts. At first I thought it was to emphasize certain things, but then it just got a little annoying. However, that didn't stop me from reading the story avidly and enjoying it immensely. I'm just happy because I really wanted to read Micah, and now I'm looking forward to the next book!
I was given an advanced copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
