Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan

5.0

I have avoided reading this book for decades because I have always been the tall Sarah and I hated being called "plain and tall" in reference to this book as a child.

I'm so so happy that I finally gave it a chance. From one Sarah Elizabeth to the fictional Sarah Elisabeth, there is nothing plain about us.

I love the historical fiction, the characters, the setting, and the ending most of all. I cried happy tears. It's a perfect short book for elementary school children, but readers of all ages will enjoy.
