Skloot is coming to St. Mary's College this spring, and as part of my African American Literature class, I'm requiring students to attend. Even cool, Lacks's own son David "Sonny" Lacks is coming on a separate date. I'm so glad the school is bringing both. The living conditions of Henrietta's family are/were heartbreaking, and I want to hear more about the community that surrounded those people and made them so strong.
