The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson

5.0

I really enjoyed reading this story. I loved that our MC was a real girl, she was quietly beautiful and no one noticed. She was a fat, lazy, intelligent girl. I can relate and I loved the journey she went on, discovering her inner strength and finding a way to make herself actually useful. I enjoyed seeing the relationships that developed along the way and the action and adventure of this world.

The religious aspect threw me for a minute or two but I appreciate the way it is done in this book. As though so many people know the will of God, while the person supposedly chosen by God didn't know what He wanted. I liked how realistic the plans and story were as a whole.
