One Touch by Lena Hendrix

5.0

Lena has given us the holy grail: ex-boyfriend’s rugged older brother.

I was obsessed with the first book in this series (ONE LOOK) and I still think about it today. And while this book is in the same series, it’s also entirely different because Lena manages to capture characters with incredible personalities that carry you through each page. And since the characters are all so different, each book shines on its own.

I loved Kate and Beckett. Honestly, I loved how much Kate was figuring out her own life, her family dynamic, and what she wanted to do. I love how she didn’t want a man to dictate what she did in life after spending YEARS with an ex who couldn’t be bothered to give her the time of day – or any kind of commitment for that matter. And I loved that Beckett wasn’t close to his brother, because it helped round out just how much of an asshole the ex truly was.

I loved the cameos of other favorite characters from ONE LOOK and how seamlessly they all come together – especially when one of their own need help. I loved the banter between Kate and Beckett and I loved how much they grew while working side by side. OH and Beckett’s battle/friendship (??) with Beakface?? HILARIOUS.

You’ll get a bit of everything with this one and you will NOT want to put it down. I promise.

Tropes:
- Ex-boyfriend’s bother
- Enemies to lovers
- Brother’s best friend
- Small town
- Grumpy/sunshine
- Forced proximity
- House reno project
