Man. Oh, man. I love this series. It just does it all for me. The character development is insane and the world building? Incredible. And I hate world building, I find it tedious. But the way Maas weaves everything together; she's such a talent. I think it's definitely a disservice to call this story "enemies to lovers" because it really isn't. It's very "insta-lovey" and I know it sort of gets explained by the whole "mate" concept but still. This was present to me so many times as enemies to lovers and I really wanted some backbreaking fights and drama before they finally came to the romance aspect. I don't think I've ever loved a female protagonist the way I love Feyre. She's not whiny and she can do things for herself and she defies what Rhysand want's her to do sometimes; equally so, he's okay with it and gets that she shouldn't listen to every single thing he says. I love how human Maas makes all the characters; how they're not all numb to death and despair and really deal with their problems. Their relationship is gold and there is so much respect within it. The twist of the two characters who are mates makes me so excited. The male half of that duo is someone I just want all the good things for. And I can't wait to see what happens between Nesta and Cassian- there's just so much brewing there.
