In the 5th book in the series, Betsy's life takes some interesting turns. She's approaching her birthday, dealing with a delegates from the European Vampires, trying to plan a wedding, trying to give up blood drinking, and discovering some unsettling news about her best friend. I think that this book opens the door for the series to take a darker turn. Up til now, every big bad that has come her way has been easily defeated, but not this time. Betsy must make some difficult decisions about her future. Oh, and there's a zombie in the attic.
