Lydia's family wakes up and finds that she is gone. When her body is found, the world as they know it is shattered. Each one tries to piece it all together and remember her last moments but they all have secrets. It seems that no one really knew Lydia the way they thought they did.
This was such a brilliantly written story about family dynamics, grief, loss and relationships. Celeste Ng paints beautiful pictures with her words. Every character has a unique voice but the story overall is cohesive. I was moved to tears by the end of the story. The writing was so well done, I could picture them jndiviually. The story is heart breaking but there is a glimmer of hope in forgiveness. This is one of those stories you need to process before you move on to another book.
