So, I absolutely LOVED this book.  It’s no secret that winter and “locked room” thrillers are my favorite.  This one gave me chills.  I knew I was going to love it almost immediately.

I snuck into Forest Haven last summer, which is an abandoned asylum.  It was closed for severe abuse of patients, just like in this book.  Also like The Sanatorium, things were just left.  Paperwork, chairs, personal effects, beds, etc.  How creepy is that?!  Well, my experience at Forest Haven gave me the extra detail that really made the story come to life.  I felt like I was there.

I thought everything about this book was super creepy.  I honestly couldn’t put it down!  It’s a fast paced, plot driven, chilling thriller for sure.  The Sanatorium has an amazing atmosphere.  I loved the setting in the Swiss Alps with the imminent threat of an avalanche.  I loved all the twists and suspects, never knowing whodunnit until the very last few pages.  I wasn’t expecting the final twist!

If you’re looking for a creepy, winter thriller, you should definitely pick this up!
