Bonds of the Forsaken is book 1 in a new series. I don’t feel it is as steampunk as the prequel, but still an excellent romantasy.

The burn was slow. Don’t worry, though, it’s worth it! And I’m excited to see how the relationships work out in book 2.

Kaiya is a relic hunter, and a mighty fine one, too. Sent on a dangerous mission, she teams up with a companion she’d rather not be saddled with… maybe because she’s trying to deny her attraction to him than anything else. Kaiya and Jaiel’s journey is filled with revelations and betrayal. Old friends are turned into enemies. Tye, I’m looking at you. Get your act together, man. 😉

There were a few times where I wasn’t confused, as it had been awhile since I’ve read the prequel. That didn’t lower my enjoyment of this book though. It’s well-written and enjoyable characters. Except for the ones we know immediately we’re not supposed to like. 😆

Looking forward to the next book and see what adventures await our characters! That ending left me questioning things!
