A Prairie Girl's Faith: The Spiritual Legacy of Laura Ingalls Wilder by Stephen W. Hines

5.0

A gentle complement to any LIW fan's library. Hines explores how Laura's faith - quiet, unassuming and always kept private - worked through every aspect of her life, and in doing so, is able to share stories about Laura, poems she wrote, recipes from the folks in De Smet, and more about her family, all while remaining respectful to her legacy and truthful to the historical record. If you're looking for a comprehensive biography, this is not the book you're looking for (yet), but I've read at least 3 other biographies of LIW and still found myself charmed by this one, with plenty of new details for me.
