Well at least I finished this YA novel (compared to my last couple attempts) but just barely.

The zombies hit England - it's never explained how or why.
They have mutants controlling them - no idea how or why.
We have a miserable excuse for a hero doing barely enough to get by.
2/3 of the book happen before we get any face time with the zombies.

So we've got crappy characters, crappy writing, crappy dialogue and all of the racist characters kept pulling me out of the story.

This is a (I believe) 13 book series that I will not be continuing and wouldn't recommend anyone else even starting.
