I became interested in this book after reading the back synopsis that describes a family and an interest in a tree. It reminded me of the film, Charisma, which has a natural/ supernatural effect on the competition of nature and the minds of the characters, respectively. I didn’t quite get a thesis-worthy comparison between the two pieces, but this novel was still good and surprised me with its characters mostly.
