How to Catch a Rival by Ana Ashley
3.0
I love Ana’s writing and Chester Falls, small town romances are some of my favourites.
I really enjoyed the premise of the book. Wren was a great guy, though I’m still not sure how he thought people wouldn’t know about the end of his Pro Football career. He was mature and thoughtful, and in desperate need to find roots and settle down, somewhere that will really know him and love him.
Tom, wasn’t for me. He was immature, completely self-involved, and only really cared about himself. I know many people like the ‘dramatic’ character, so I have no doubt many will love Tom. Often I find myself warming up to characters like this by the end, but Tom never seemed to mature or grow.
The writing was great and it moved well, so this is one of those ‘it’s me’ scenarios.
