God of Fury by Rina Kent

5.0

”You’re the purest, most passionate soul I’ve ever met. You loved me when I didn’t even like myself. You held me together when I was falling apart and helped me put myself back together one piece at a time until I became the man I am today.” ~ Brandon King

God of Fury unfolds as a powerful exploration of mental health and gay awakening, delving into the lives of Brandon and Nikolai. Bran’s character resonated with me on a personal level, addressing mental health struggles that often go overlooked in male protagonists. Niko, the perfect partner who makes it his mission to help Bran, stands out as a scary golden retriever guy, navigating his own mental health with resilience and embracing the craziness.

The atmospheric setting enveloped me in their emotions, and the plot, with its secret romance, captivated me, and the push-and-pull dynamics added depth to both characters. Intrigue held steady throughout, maintaining my interest in every aspect of their story. The logical progression of events and character arcs made complete sense, although the scene involving Niko and Clara left me wanting more clarity from Niko’s perspective.

My enjoyment of God of Fury reached perfection, amplified by humorous moments like Niko's unique form of communication with Kolya. The inclusion of parents' perspectives, particularly Levi's, added an extra layer of depth to the narrative. The relationship between Nikolai and Kyle was amazing to read.
