Before I even begin, can we all just agree that Madeline Miller is the goddess of writing, can we start a petition for that? ‘Cause the way she uses language can only be done by someone divine.

This is one of the few books where my words won’t be able to get my point across. To understand why Circe is such an extraordinary book is to just simply read it. I could tell you that Madeline Miller’s writing is so unique, from the way she uses words to make the smallest events emotionally impactful, to how her words create this atmosphere - making you feel as if you on Aiaia tending to the pigs and sheep, breathing in the ocean air.

Circe was such an interesting character to read about, and I will forever love her. Seeing her grow from this nymph to the first greek witch, and over coming her fears and problems was a story I enjoyed from the first to last page.

Do I think that Circe is better than SOA? Honestly, I don’t know. With Madeline Millers books I find that I start to like them more the longer I’ve reflected on it (or at least in the case of SOA). So I guess only time will tell. But it’s definitely my favourite read of ‘22 so far!
