Miss Kim Knows and Other Stories by Cho Nam-joo

4.0

"Ms Kim, there are so many women out there who have experienced violence in the hands of their brothers and fathers. Absolutely noone deserves this, but it's honestly quite common"

This is a short collection from the renowned Cho Nam-Joo, from the perspective of women at all stages of their lives. It is the written in the familiar reflective prose as #kimjiyoungborn1982

I enjoy the sombre and melancholic mood of #chonamjoo stories and how some of the stories relate to my own lived experiences as a Woman.

Some standout stories:
- runaway - a daughter keeps track of her father who takes off one day.
- Miss Kim knows: a story of nepotism and young women fending for themselves
- Dear Hyunnam Oppa: an unforgetable painful eroding of self confidence, gaslighting and isolating from friends.

An excellent short read
