The Ten Loves of Mr Nishino by Hiromi Kawakami
3.0
This book was a hard read even with how short it was. The main character was all sorts of messed up, but I don't think that would have bothered me as much if he hadn't raped multiple girls. Even that could've been plot-driven, but the women liked it and still loved him. It gave me the creeps. This book aligns very well with taboo natures.
I gave a 3, because I at least respect what the author was trying to do by telling a man's story through the eyes of women he encountered.
I also feel like I would have enjoyed the book's language more if I had read it in the original Japanese (contextual translations threw me off a few times).
