The Last Romantics by Tara Conklin
5.0
This is far and above the best fiction book I’ve read this year. The writing style is beautiful. The structure of the book is unique but successful, and I would argue even enhancing. The story is captivating. The character development is impeccable. The settings are transportive. Maybe I’m swayed because it’s essentially a story of four siblings, of whom the narrator is the youngest, which mirrors my own life in which I am the youngest of four. I wept at the end which is a measure for me of any 5 star rating. I will be putting Conklin’s other novel on my TBR straight away.
