Life in a Medieval City by Joseph Gies, Frances Gies
4.0
Easy and enjoyable read (non-fiction) about life in the French Medieval City Troyes during the year 1250. If you didn't know and you find fascinating the fact that in the Medieval period a urine test involved doctors tasting their patients' urine, then this book might be for you (Yes, that says TASTING as in TASTED, as in they drank some of the urine and made a diagnosis according to how sweet or otherwise the patient's urine tasted. I had to double check if the book had a typo and the authors meant to write something different. Nope. The authors did mean to write the word tasted next to the word urine). Enough said...
