I didn’t have high expectations for The Twelve Dates of Christmas / Jouludeitti x12 (I read the Finnish translation by Taina Wallin), so I was happily surprised at how entertaining it was! The perfect book for Christmas not only because of the setting (a small English town in December), but also because it’s so easy to read in small sections here and there in between all the celebrations. I loved learning about the main character’s job as a textile designer and following different Christmassy dates, though it was clear from the very beginning what’s going to happen romance wise. I do think that the fantastic slow burn would have deserved a more considered fullfillment than the rushed conclusion we get. As a romance, this is more like 3 stars, but the impeccable Christmassy atmosphere elevates my rating to a four.
