After absolutely loving Perfume and Pain, I decided to pick this up to read while in LA for the setting. Our characters are a mess and totally selfish yet have no self esteem. They are so uncomfortable with themselves that they cannot find it in them to put energy into others. They are lonely and starved for human touch and affection. I think overall that can be relatable, but with the characters I could not relate. Much of the book is plotless and leaves you wondering what will actually come of these characters and what do they have in common? The twist was actually hilarious and I really enjoyed that part. We do get a full circle kind of ending and some character development which I enjoyed.

I do want to mention that I am not educated in mental health diagnosis so it’s possible this includes bad representation of those. I just am not informed enough to speak on that.

Also skip this audiobook. It’s honestly one of the worst ones I’ve ever encountered.
