I have loved Allison and Gaby’s YouTube channel, Just Between Us, for a few years now, and I absolutely loved this book! It was like reading conversations between the two best friends if they were 18 and had known each other in high school. It can be very difficult not to lose some of the story and resonance with letter format (in this case, emails and text messages), but the two writers really do a great job of getting across the voices of their characters and the ebb and flow of tension that occurs when a friendship is tested. It brought me back to going to college 90 miles away from my best friend from high school (She’s a Gaby, I’m an Allison), and I think anyone who has recently been to or is currently attending college would identify with this book. It’s funny, sharp-witted, and poignant. A great testament to friendship.
