I struggled to like this one. Their relationship went to shit, she tells him she’ll never forgive him if he kills her father, she runs away how many times? Eventually she gets back to her family and her father reveals that he’s not her bio dad but actually her uncle (loved this part, I stared at the wall gobsmacked for a while) and he had her mother — the woman he LOVED — killed because she was gonna get him killed first (also wild, go dead mum, wish you succeeded queen), THEN her ‘first love’ kills her father-uncle and she doesn’t care and forgives him and still holds a place of love for him???
And don’t even get me started on Carter Cross all of a sudden changing his ways and becoming a mush puddle because his brother told him some profound words of wisdom about loving their partners before they end up dead.
I was so in love with the first 2 books, the 3rd book was a tad of a letdown but this one feels like it was lacking :(
