Parable of the Talents by Octavia E. Butler

5.0

I love all Octavia Butler (some questionable relationship choices in her books, but she makes up for it in other ways). I prefer Parable of the Sower over this sequel. However, this book really clarifies some aspects from book one and helps to continue to build this insane dystopian (but plausible) world. I think the parts where we learn a bit more about the inner workings of the upper class as well as the street poor are really essential to finishing the picture Octavia began to paint with book one. I wish the series would continue beyond the second book, but we all know that is impossible. I do enjoy this duet and have reread it and enjoyed it even more.
