Buried Angels by Camilla Läckberg
4.0
In 1974, a family disappeared during dinner, leaving only a small girl, Ebba, behind. As an adult, she returns to her former home with her husband. Turns out her great-great grandmother was the Angelmaker, convicted of killing unwanted infants.
Her great-grandmother had a fling with Hermann Göring and gave birth to Laura, who married off her daughter to a stern widower with horrible kids, one of whom abused the students at the boarding school his father ran.
All of this gets untangled by Patrick and Erica as they try to figure out who is trying to kill Ebba now. Turns out it is her own husband, Tobias, who snapped after the death of their son, Vincent. Anna gets briefly involved with Tobias, which doesn't help his stability--he tries to kill her too.
