The Last Dance by J. Mackenzie
4.0
Set around the professional world of ballet and theatre. Achilles has come to New York to finish his career on a high. Patroclus works behind the scenes. This is written in single POV from Achilles eyes. He isn't a character you immediately like, but his character develops as he becomes more outgoing and trusting with friends. This is a second chance story, these two have history, that didn't end well. Achilles is expecting hostility because he admits he was a terrible boyfriend when he was 18. He has since grown up, and with his therapist's help, he isn't afraid to admit his wrong doings. I liked the way their relationship reignited, you could feel they both still affected each other. The expected drama didn't appear, it was all low angst. The intimate scenes were hot, and there was a real feeling of devotion between them. The epilogue gives us a happy for now, it is early days with them, but you get the feeling of forever. An easy read, second chance at love. I would love Rupert to get a story, he was a fun character. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
