"and while our years apart were their winter, will id the spring, his laughter the fresh flowers and his grins the thawing of the ice. and now, that love feels stronger than ever. like he's tattooed on my skin, on my organs, on my soul, and i couldn't get him out even if i wanted to."
i really like this book and i was going to give it four stars but oh my god. i gave it 5 solely for those letters will wrote to amy at the end. those actually made me so emotional i loved them. there were things about this book that i wish had been done better, like i wish we got to see more of will and violet's relationship developing. i thought there were going to be flashbacks of summers they spent together growing up as kids and then later young adults but there were only flashbacks of 1 summer (the summer where everything went wrong and they stopped speaking). so to me the story was lacking in character depth because you didn't get to see will and violet get to know each other and become friends, it only showed you the end part. it was like going straight to the romance part and skipping the friendship stuff. but to be honest i still really, really loved reading it and i'll say it again, those LETTERS oh my god they did something to me, i'll never forget them. plus i'll just always be a sucker for this trope, so, yes, 5 stars :)
