I was able to finish this jaunty read in the time it took my son to watch one Thomas the Tank Engine DVD which is nice. It's a funny, neurotic and surprisingly prone to violence little story of man at the bottom of his luck for six straight years finally seeing a ladder out only to have his interiori monologue set him up for self sabotage throughout.

It's a fun read! You can knock it out in an hour!
