Though this book dealt with some heavy topics, the phone call format made for an interesting and fun reading experience. I was skeptical going into it, but I found that I liked it. I got so much of Luciana's direct, real voice, and some of her family's as well.

I think it's easy to read a book like this and think that this family is so dramatic but as you continue the read, you peel back the layers on who they are as characters, and it becomes evident that it's actually not dramatics. It's a lot of generational trauma mixed with codependency.
