When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
5.0
Wow, I absolutely loved this book. It's a brilliant book about a pair of Desi American kids figuring out what they want out of life-- balancing ambitions with family expectations, confronting their fears, dealing with parents who don't understand and peers who don't understand. And of course, falling in love. I love romantic books, but so often they focus more on simplifying the complicated nature of falling and being in love. This book isn't that. It is fun and sweet but it doesn't shy away from how complicated it can be to actually love someone. I love this book not because it portrays a fantasy of an easy relationship but because it heroes rise to challenges and push each other to be better.
