The Starlets by Lee Kelly, Jennifer Marie Thorne
4.0
Thank you Harper for the audio review copy of The Starlets, this is a fun, and well produced, audiobook and I loved the old Hollywood glamour and backdrop for what also became an entertaining romp (if you will allow that) with two actresses (frenemies) trying to outwit a criminal network. The plot is well written, capturing the voice of the main characters nicely (I thought the voice acting was solid as well), and well paced, I never felt bored listening to the story (even if there was a little suspension of belief involved in the plot). The main strength of the story is how well the authors developed the two main characters, the tension and spirited attitudes, and the building of an adventure that forced them to appreciate each other, work together, and to have to protect each other, their careers, and their own lives. The settings were captivating, the characterizations fun and memorable, and the plot was fun, engaging, and well paced.
