Slewfoot: A Tale of Bewitchery by Brom
5.0
This book was fantastic. My first ever book by Brom, and I immediately want to read everything else he's written. I can't express how much I loved this!
Slewfoot is dark, atmospheric, and the perfect read to gear up for fall. It's excellent storytelling from cover to cover, and I was pleasantly surprised to find this is more than just a simple story about a witch.
Abitha befriends a powerful spirit after her husband dies, leaving her to tend to his farm and deal with the townsfolk spreading rumors of her partaking in witchcraft. Through her new friends, enemies, and a little revenge, both Abitha and the spirit discover who they are.
And the artwork?? That alone makes this one of my favorite books of all time.
