The Tower of the Swallow by Andrzej Sapkowski
3.0
I’m nearing the end of my Witcher journey and there's a lot to love here but also some to dislike
I really enjoyed the main story and the overall direction that it goes in. You know throughout the book where the story is leading to, The Tower of the Swallow, so it keeps you invested throughout. I am, however, over the politics of it all, I just want to know now what happens and where these amazing characters end up
The focus is very Ciri heavy so it's fun to follow her adventures and what she's been up to and where she goes from there. This does take the focus away from Geralt and some of the other characters, I personally was just about ok with it as I find the role Ciri plays in the story interesting and Geralt has been on the same quest for a while now
I think the main problem for me with this book is the execution of it, it's longer compared to the others and you can definitely feel it. I found there to be some directionless waffle occasionally and there's different timelines going. I feel like it would of benefited more from just having a conventional plotline as there's more than enough quality of story here that it doesn't need to be complicated
There's a few plot twists that happen towards the end of the book that has made me want to pick up the final book as soon as possible to see what’s in store for Geralt and the gang and to see how the story concludes
