Indigo Sky by Kelsey Kingsley

This story revolves around Revan, Nate, and Kate, but it is NOT about a threesome. Told from the Revan's POV, the story follows the beginning of Nate and Rev's friendship back when they were 8 years old. Rev wasn't always the butt of everyone's joke or the loner, but a freak accident caused him to lose an eye and develop serious scars on his face. Nate had his share of traumatic experiences that gave him his tough facade. These two were the most unlikely of friends and they become co-dependent on each other. Kate has her own crosses to bear, but from the first moment she met Rev there was a spark of something. It's not. until years later when they are working at the same establishment do Kate and Rev begin a relationship. But, it's a bumpy one with mysterious events and the suspense of finding out the villain in this story. At one point, you will think that you know who it is but you'll soon realize just how wrong you are. I know I was shocked at who the villain in this story is, and not at all who I expected. There's a lot of heartbreak...when Nate and Rev grew apart, when Rev discovers Kate's true identity, when Rev feels betrayed. But, no matter what was going on, the author wove a spell on me that kept me invested in the story and the characters' HEA. In many ways this story is about redemption for Rev, Kate, and Nate, but it's also about found family and love.
