Captive of the Horde King by Zoey Draven

An alien romance to get out of my book funk

I’ll take it! Alien romance isn’t usually my cup of tea. But I’ve been in a slump and when that happens, you need to try a different kind of tea.

This tea has large members with ‘appendages’ above those members that grow and vibrate.

What? You’re surprised that the first thing I mention is the special purple veggies? You shouldn’t be.

Overall, it’s clearly a play on the GoT horde, but it works. It’s a tiny bit reminiscent of IPB so if you’re a fan you’ll probably like this too. Again - it’s a bit reminiscent, it’s in the same vein, but still unique. I also liked that the trauma aspect - because there always is one in alien romance - is not as difficult to swallow as IPB. This alien is all about consent. There’s brief mention of other creatures doing horrible things, but we don’t hear much about them.

Overall, five stars, not quite four chili peppers, but not quite three either, and highly recommend. Enjoy!
