Older, But Better, But Older: From the Authors of How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are by Sophie Mas, Caroline De Maigret

4.0

I'm a lot younger then authors and haven't experienced pregnancy, motherhood or marriage yet, but there still are some valuable lessons I can take away from this book. Is this the holy bible of how to cope with the fear of aging? No - this is a mildly chaotic collage of metaphorical anecdotes, life lessons and pictures with varying degrees of helpfulness and to be taken with a smile and a grain of salt. This book is quick to read on a rainy afternoon, thought-provoking, but not too deep and somewhere between relatable and confusing. I want to read this again in a few years time, just to see how my perspective has changed - definitely liked this a lot more than "How to be Parisian", it felt more real and didn't try as hard.
One thing I would've wished for though, are more photos of older women (this book is about aging, why are there only pictures of twenty- and thirty-somethings?!).
