Mister Wonderful: A Love Story by Daniel Clowes
4.0
Daniel Clowes is known primarily for Ghost World. I like Ghost World, it's a good book, but I find it hard to connect with the characters and I find them kind-of unlikeable. This, though... I did connect with. The story of a man who is at a crossroads in his life, trying to find companionship yet down on himself, lacking confidence and struggling to know what to say. He is set up on a blind-date by a couple of friends and we follow him on his journey, internally and externally. I really liked this. Clowes has a real way of delving in to the flaws and discomfort of dating, generaltional gaps and life. My favourite of his books thus far.
