Ghost Station by S.A. Barnes

3.0

Dead Silence was a 5 star for me, so Ghost Station had been on my TBR for a while. This doesn’t come close to Dead Silence. Maybe if you are someone that doesn’t do a lot of horror, this could be a good intro for you.

This is incredibly character driven with minimal action. There was an issue with the description and writing of scenes where I was having a very hard time visualizing what was happening. I couldn’t grasp where people were in regard to others or settings making any action hard to comprehend. We also get a romance element that is totally unnecessary.

When things start to escalate, we have so much internal monologue about how our main character likes the captain but doesn’t like herself or trust herself. There is no need to keep talking about these things over and over again especially when people are dying. It kept taking me out of it.

Ugh. It’s not bad, but I expected so much more!
