Indra- First of the Aryas by Abhiveer Soni, Abhiveer Soni

4.0

Indra: First of The Aryas by Abhiveer Soni comes under the genre of mythological fiction and explores the story of Indra, the king of Devas. Indra was the youngest son of Dyayus and Prithvi.

The story explores further when A destructive war is planned to happen in the land of sapta-sindhu and at that very time, the king of Devas was assigned the task to protect his people and kingdom and restore the power of devas against Daityas. Who was Indra? Why he felt the need to restablish the power of deva again? Who were the daityas? What was the quest? Read the book to get all your questions answered.

The book is based on the stories of Rigveda and delves the readers into the world of gods, goddess and their magical realm.

The book is very well reasearched, plot is gripping, simply written, easy to grasp and the narration is also done flawlessly but the only thing that I don’t like about the book is its protagonist Indra is multifaceted and I know him as God’s king but this book talks about Indra as a hero.

Overall, I found the book quite enjoyable. In my opinion, it falls into the category of mythological fantasy rather than mythological fiction. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a brief read based on Indian mythology.
