Mile High by Liz Tomforde
4.75
Y'all I loved this book. I think it's a 4.75. It's not perfect. But if you want KU smut with excellent handling of mental health issues, plus size rep, and character development this is for you. It's hot af and like you actually care about the characters and buy into their romance.
He's a 6'5 hockey player with the reputation of a rake who can't stay out of the penalty box. She's a flight attendant on the team plane who has no patience for his celebrity bullshit because her twin brother (and roommate) is a hot shot NBA point guard.
The conflict is a bit annoying and unbelievable for me. but once we got through that I was freaking obsessed with it. There is also a cheeseball moment that was a bit much but also like I just love them okay!
They're both biracial I want to say which is worth noting because while it's not necessarily a big part of the story, it's not something I've gotten to read a lot of.
If you're going to read a KU book let it be this one. I just read it over the 3 day weekend and now am so excited for the next book because Indy and Ryan are hilarious and I'm already dying for the forced proximity.
-found family
-one night stand
-can't stand each other to becoming obsessed with each other
-both have close brother/sister relationships
-Chicago and travel
-family issues and boundaries
-generational trauma
-body acceptance and love in a way I've never seen
-rescue dogs
-it's so hot
-he's obsessed with her body, her sas, her heart, and her pleasure
-tats and gold jewelry
-oh yeah he's filthy rich
-opposites attract?
