Verity by Colleen Hoover
1.0
The more I think about it, the less I like it. The story was captivating and exciting ā but my initial enjoyment from the storyline overshadowed my ability to see the serious flaws in the plot. Some of the details are clearly the result of a writer who has a serious inability to fill in plot holes and develop characters. Plus, some scenarios, like the feasibility of the staged car accident, are laughably ridiculous. Initially I gave it four stars. Then I sat and thought back to some of the cheap dialogue and gave it three. Then I reconsidered the way that Hoover used detailed sex scenes to hide the fact that her writing is simply mediocre, and Iām giving it 2 stars. YES ā the twists and turns in this book are great! The writing itself? Pretty rough.
