Signed In Incubus by Maggie Mayhem
3.0
I've only read one other of Maggie Mayhem's books. I enjoyed the world enough to go back to it.
Unfortunately, this story fell a bit flat from my expectations. Granted, I did really enjoy Penny as a growing character, and her family circumstances sure made things interesting. I guess my issue was more with the plot. For all these people being affected by the same spell, everyone but Prax acted like cavemen with nothing but mating and fighting on their minds. I think it would have been more interesting if they weren't such obvious troglodytes and Prax had had to fight for her affection.
Deanna as the shadow antagonist was also a choice I'm not sure about. On the one hand, the twist ending was great! On the other, I feel like she should have actually appeared in person before the last 10% of the book if she was going to be that important.
