Fear and Trembling by Amélie Nothomb

5.0

It was difficult to find other 5 star reviews written in English from which I can assume maybe Americans lack the intelligence to understand the point of this book. Satire at its finest, a novel to read in one sitting, to laugh out loud while you honestly consider the differences between the East and the West and what culture may prevail in the workplace and elsewhere. For me it was not about cultural criticism but cultural adaptation, understanding of differences, and in some cases illustrating the absurdity of each.
