My main problem with this book is that it was far too repetitive. I had to read basically the same few paragraphs every chapter. I understand using repetition to get a point across, but if you took out all of it the book would probably be half the size. Also I didn’t connect to either mc, but Dianna especially annoyed me with how oblivious she was to Barrett’s feelings. Also (and this is just a personal thing) it was way too much of a slow-burn for me. Also (minor spoilers) but I didn’t like how we found out Barrett was depressed at like the 80% mark, when he was going to pick up his antidepressants. As someone who has lived through depression I felt it should have come up before, especially during his pov so I found that disappointing.
I only give 1 stars to books that I think are objectively awful, and though I don’t think that this was that well written I can understand why people may like this more than I did (I should also mention that I really don’t like sports and both the mc’s were athletes so there was a lot of sport in this which also didn’t help boost the rating)
