The setting and cover of Murder on the Christmas Express had me intrigued from the start. A cozy Christmas train ride is something I couldn't resist, and I absolutely loved the atmospheric details that brought the holiday setting to life. The idea of a murder mystery unfolding on a train during Christmas, echoing the classic Murder on the Orient Express, was promising. Unfortunately, the execution didn't quite live up to the potential. The pacing was slow, and the plot felt like it stalled for much of the book—nothing really happens until about two-thirds in. I found myself skimming through large chunks of the story, hoping for more action or character development, but neither really materialized. I had a hard time connecting with any of the characters. They felt a bit flat and didn’t quite draw me in. While the book may appeal to fans of slower-paced, character-driven mysteries, I didn’t find it particularly gripping or memorable. The classic whodunnit elements are there, but the lack of excitement and lackluster characters made it hard for me to fully enjoy. That being said, the cover art is gorgeous, and the train setting was definitely a highlight, but overall, this one just didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
