It only gets 2 stars because I finished it. I found this author so pretentious! I'm a well read person, I have an English degree, and what felt like every other page I was looking up a word. For instance, the word fascia, which means dashboard. What's wrong with the word dashboard? Everyone understands it and it wouldn't have pulled me out of the story looking up its meaning the way fascia did. 
Anyway, greatly disliked this book and most of the characters in it. The only 2 I liked at all were Andrew and Philip. Even Martha annoyed me because no 9yos talk like that.
