The Assistants by Camille Perri
4.0
This novel was really fun. If you are looking for a funny, easy read, this could be for you.
Tina is a 30-year-old assistant to a major media mogul, barely making enough to get by, let alone pay off her student loans. When a clerical error results in nearly $20,000 in her possession, she makes a choice that causes an avalanche of change, risk, and reward.
This author playfully acknowledges the roles of income and gender inequality in the workplace. Through this, beautiful and accepting friendships and relationships are formed. I really enjoyed the characters' vivid personalities.
The ending is a little saccharine and neat and tidy, but I'm ok with it. It was a nice way to end a light read.
